  • Have you put them in the dishwasher? If so that is what does it. The heat from the dry cycle. I handwash all my plastic so that doesn't happen. Having a bunch of pets, I have a "no glass" rule on the patio, just like many people do around the pool.

You can try a vinegar soak and see if it helps any. So sorry this happened to you, at least now you know.

if the cloudiness is due to hard water, and not scratches, you could try wiping them down with vinegar.

First, run your dishwasher with a cup of white vinegar in it to clear any hard water deposits from the dishwasher. Then, load your cloudy glasses in the top rack of the dishwasher along with a full cup of white vinegar. That should do the trick, though if the cloudiness is super stubborn you may need to wrap the glasses in vinegar-dampened cloth and let them sit overnight.

Place your glasses under warm running water and wet both sides of the lenses. The water removes any existing debris that can potentially scratch your eyeglasses as you clean them.

Hold your eyeglasses between the lenses (the part that sits on your nose). Spray an eyeglass cleaner on both sides of each lens.

Rub the cleaner into the glass carefully with a cotton, lint-free cloth. Further, rub down the portion of the frame that encircles each lens to ensure that you pick up any remaining particles that may fall back on the glass.

Rinse the lenses with warm water to clean off the solution and use a clean portion of your cloth to dry your eyeglasses. Do not allow your lenses to stay wet because it can cause the hazy, foggy appearance when dried.

Put your eyeglasses in a case to make sure they do not get scratched while lying on a hard surface. Scratches are a common factor in eyeglasses, making them harder to see through.
