How can I makeover a large metal tray?
I picked up a large metal tray. It's very heavy and needs a complete do over on the tray part. The sides are a filigree cutout. Needs to be cleaned as well. Any suggesstios?

Hello Sue, Sounds as if this might have been a Silver or Silver Plated Tray. If it was there could be Copper under the silver plate, and would look great cleaned up. Otherwise use Metal Metal Primer and Top coat (Available in your local DIY store or online.......
Spray paint is the way to go. If there are pretty details, use a dark or white wax in those areas to give depth.
I've spray painted many metal and silver plate trays trays. Also they make great chalkboards as well if the center ares is smooth
