Musty smell in basement- How can I get rid of this odor?

My basement has a musty odor. The windows are sealed and cannot be opened. How can I control this odor, or get rid of it? I have no pets, just a game room, refrigerator furnace, hot water heater, and washer and dryer there.,

I believe you have mold or mildew or both. Since your windows don't open, you need to try to get rid of these, which is causing the smell. Mid-Atlantic Waterproofing. Call them and see, if there not in your area, see if they can give you another # in your area. I suggest you get something done. This could ruin you appliances from the moisture. Good Luck!
Try a dehumidifier....it could be dampness in the room since there is probably not much air flow in that area. Also, if the area has carpeting or rugs, make sure to keep them clean so they do not get musty.
