I have been using baking soda and water, mixed to a paste. Leave it on for a while, then just wipe it off. Has been a dependable, non toxic method for years.

Agreed baking soda and water into a paste is the safest method.

Trying the baking soda and water paste. Do you ever heat the oven before you apply it?

I used Gumption - a product that is Australian made and comes in a tub. Use it with a scourer pad for the stubborn bit and it easily wipes off the more recent grease that has not baked on. You do need a bit of elbow grease though and for cleaning the racks, I recommend using steel wool (fine grade rather than too harsh) that you can buy at hardware stores with the Gumption. If you don't mind using a bit of elbow grease and clean on a regular basis so the muck does not get too hard baked on, this product is great as no harmful smells/toxic fumes and not expensive either. A little goes a long way. When using spray oven cleaners, you can virtually use the whole can and that stuff is smelly/toxic and expensive and often once you use it once, the nozzle on the can clogs and you just cannot get the remainder of the product out of the can! Big waste of your $$.

In your video for natural oven cleaners, you are peeling a fruit...kind of looks like an orange, but it might be a lemon...which is it?

An orange. This works great. I made up a bunch and gave to my family. They ALL love this way to clean now.
