How do I clean scorched pots& pans clean again

My Mom used to use comet cleanser on the bottom of her pans. If they are copper bottom for example you can buy copper cleaner too.

Use Cream of tarter, from the spice area in the grocery store. It is a powder. Boil water add cream of tarter, let boil for a few minutes, rinse clean

When I scorch ours, I put water in them and boil them on the stove. I have always been able to do this and have it work.
