The acid from the tomato reacted with whatever metal the plate is? what is the metal?

If its stainless steel, rinse and wash off the acid, make a paste of baking soda and water and rub into the stain, allow to sit a bit. and use a scrubby to try to remove the stain. Rinse really well. If there is still a stain, use some ammonia on the stain, be careful not to mix with anything else.

If that didn't remove it all, use some Bar Keeper's Friend.
