I need to clean up some horse shoes
recently removed from the horse, I'll be using them for, among other things, a good luck plaque for a friends new business; any suggestions ?
The only way I can think of is use a damp cloth that you have wet with water and Dawn soap. Very gently try washing it in a circular motion. If it works just go over it the second time without using soap. You may want to contact someone who works with antiques and see what they tell you. I hope you get it cleaned, it's a cute decoration.
Thank you! I was thinking about diluted bleach or maybe vinegar and baking soda! They have lights on them so I don't want to ruin or cause them to stop working! Thanks for info will try dawn 1st!
If these are outdoor use pressure washer. works great. Real good on nylon blowed up snowman and plywood angels, both of which gets so dingy from one season to next.
If these are antiques, talk to a professional!
If your bears can get wet, I suggest submerging them in a large container of water and Polident tablets. Once they come out of the water, dry them with a hair dryer to avoid corrosion on the metals bits.
You might want to do a controlled experiment with just a leg or a paw first.
Thanks but these r very delicate and I'm afraid s pressure washer will ruin them
Thank u
They look vintage. I am a bear collector and I clean my bears with a baby brush and baby talc that has cornstarch in it. Sprinkle on and gently brush. May take several tries. Also for the tinsel pieces do not use water. Hairdryer on low and baby wipes. Hope this helps.
Go to the dollar store. There's this cleaned called Bam. It's great. I sprayed on my white walls and was shocked of all the grime that came off instantly!
Hi,
Lovely bears!!
I would suggest taking dawn and bleach for ( coloured clothes), mix 3 parts dawn and 4 parts bleach, and put it in a spray bottle. Try it first on a small part of the bear.
When it comes time to rinse ( if possible ) place the bears in your tub and use the shower head on low.
I hope that this helps.

😀
I use baby wipes on mine. I don't think soaking would be good. Maybe a damp soft cloth with a diluted vinegar/ water mix.
You may want to take the blow dryer on cool first to blow off top dust.
Darling bear
What worked for my lioness, 50+ years old, was to spray a foam product, I think it was called Resolve. It lifted soil out, using minimum water to rinse. Good luck! Not sure if spray can was for carpeting or upholstery.
You can get an aerosol spray that is for cleaning artificial flowers. Look for it at craft stores.
