Murphy's oil soap... Takes up grime off wood.
Give them a thorough wash and dry before applying teak oil .
Hmmm... teak oil.. that's does sound like it would work lovely! I wonder if a lil baby oil and a splash dish detergent (in a bucket of warm water) would work similarly..? Even if, I'm betting you'd have to experiment with oil concentration.. to avoid slippery floors!? I use Murphy's all the time as well, one of my few staples.. love it.
If you're in a bind and they look a mess (guests are arriving in an hour type bind!), you could take a butter knife and wet cloth (soft, old t-shirt kind) and lightly run the cloth-wrapped-knife between every few boards. It basically could add a little bit of depth (without damaging the wood!), appearing newer, cleaner, and some dimension for the eyes to assume it's 'supposed to be that way!'
Sanding IS brutal.. but once tackled, can look incredible! Could be a potentially good winter project.. ;)
Paint them....
Murphy's Oil is a great cleaner for wooden floors if you're looking to remove grime.
