What do I use to clean the rubber caskets around my outside doors?

What are the door gaskets made of? urethane? metal? foam? and how old are they? It may be better to replace if they are old and cracking. They should have some spring or flexibility to function. Also why are they dirty? road dust, grease, pine pitch. they made need a rejuvenating liquid from the car cleaning supplies to increase their longevity.

I use hot water and Dawn scrub, and follow up with a apple cider vinegar and water and wipe down the area.

NO, DO NOT USE VINEGAR, Rubber/ urethane polymers begins to age once it is exposed to air. It begins to pit and erode. Vinegar is an acid and a drying agent. It will only disintegrate the gaskets. Just like vinegar is not to be used on aluminum or plasticized surfaces. Consider using an "armor all" product to clean and nourish the gaskets material. Check the appliance manual or an appliance service store for their recommendation.

The vinegar shouldn't dry the gaskets out. Just make sure you dry them well after cleaning. Otherwise dish soap and water should work too.
