White vinegar followed by baking soda
3 tablespoons of baking soda put in drain, then 1/3 cup of vinegar let sit for 10 minutes or so then pour a tea kettle of boiling water in to sink. That most certainly will help. I find if you run the hot water in your sink for a couple of minutes each week that you will get rid of the smell on stay sweet.
