Soak a paper towel in white vinegar and over the faucet . Come back and remove it after a few hours or even the next morning and you should be okay .

White vinegar. If it doesn't come off with wiping take a ziplock bag fill with vinegar and bring it up over faucet and use a twist tie to keep it in place and allow to soak a couple of hours.

Penny if your faucets are stainless steel or porcelain, use vinegar soaked rags that you have layed over, and wrapped around the areas with the hard water deposits on them and let the rags sit an hour or so (make sure they are dripping soaked wit hthe vinegar so to be sure they won't dry out while the vinegar is doing its job). Then use an old kitchen sponge (the kind with that worn out green scrubber on one side and the worn out yellow sponge on the other LOL .. because you don't want the scrubber side to be too new and scratchy on your sink), and scrub the hard water stains off the stainless steel (you might have to do a second application for particularly tough deposits). Once it is all scrubbed off and rinsed off, just wipe it down dry and smile at your accomlishment :) Below is a video about toilet stains and vinegar because under the rim is always a tough place for stain removal ;)

Good Luck Penny with the kitchen and bathroom sinks (and even the toilet if need be), and thanks for asking Hometalk for some help.
