    Borax and Vinegar

    1. Pour 1/4 cup of Borax into the toilet bowl and swish it around with a toilet brush.
    2. Then add 1 cup of vinegar and allow the mixture to sit in the bowl for about 20 minutes.

Finish by scrubbing the bowl with a toilet brush to remove hard water stains.

If the ring is calcified material, a pumice stone might be your only option. It is amazing how they work but do not seem to scratch the porcelain.

use a pumice stone. It doesn't harm the porcelain. To prevent the ring, get KABOOM Scrub Free Toilet Cleaner. It installs in the back of the tank and cleans with every flush. My previous house had 4 toilets and I had them in each one. Seldom had to scrub a ring in 13 years, usually in one of the seldom used toilets.
