Brasso is a pretty good, non-abrasive brass cleaner.
White toothpaste and a brush .
Nevr Dull is what we used in the military. They have been shining brass a long time. : )

A good brass cleaner, or salt and vinegar and a lot of elbow grease. Check YouTube as well.
The quickest and easiest way to clean brass is to dip a soft sponge into a mixture of warm water and mild dish detergent. Clean the bell with the solution, and then rinse it thoroughly with warm water. Wipe the bell with a microfiber cloth.

I use Brasso on my brass candlesticks and some old momentos that belonged to my father. Works well.
If it is solid brass, you can soak it overnight in ammonia. Use a container with a tight fitting lid. Then polish with Brasso.
