What is the best way to remve nicotine film from bedroom and bathroom

I have quit smoking after many years. I stayed in my bedroom and bathroom to smoke as to not smell up the rest of my home as bad. Now I need to prep the walls to repaint and am wondering if I should clean everything with a TSP solution before priming and painting or just going over it? Thank You

  • More than one method removes tar and nicotine cigarette stains and smells from walls. A good one is to start by adding warmed vinegar to a spray bottle using a one-to-one ratio. Apply the warmed vinegar or mixture directly to the walls because tar and nicotine develop a sticky and hardened surface, the warmth of the vinegar helps to soften these substances.
