We recently purchased a home that has real brick floors in the foyer, hall and sunroom - not sure whether to damp mop with only water, use a special cleaner, etc.?

You have to do a few at a time, but line a shallow cake pan with aluminum foil. Sprinkle a decent amount of baking soda over the foil. Place your items in the foil-covered pan. Next add boiling water to the pan. Works everytime for me. Good luck!
plain white toothpaste
I use Tarn-X, you just dip. Yellowed? does it have a lacquered coating?
I clean mine with toothpaste. Rub with soft cloth, rinse and dry.
Line a flat dish with foil. Add one Tablespoon of baking soda and a tablespoon of table salt. Pour warm water in and stir to dissolve the soda and salt. Put silver pieces in this solution. They all need to come in contact with the foil. Leave them in solution for a minute or two. Then place them in clean water to rinse. Then lay them out on clean towel and allow to dry.
I use Wenol cleaner and polish. Then wrap in Saran Wrap or a silver cloth To keep it from getting tarnished.
