We recently purchased a home that has real brick floors in the foyer, hall and sunroom - not sure whether to damp mop with only water, use a special cleaner, etc.?
Use the hardwood floor car system by Bona
Hi Jeanne. I wouldn't think there's much difference but now that I have laminate flooring I fill my bucket with warm water and some white vinegar. I have a spin-type mop than spins enough to leave the mop damp; it works great. There are alot of cleaners out there however they leave streaks on the floor so upon using the water/vinegar combo I find it cleans (and disinfects) and is cheap to boot!
I use a shark steamer. I was told to only use water on my wood floors when we moved in. I have used Bona to spot treat an area that might have a spill or something sticky on it.
Hardwood floors than have been properly sealed, and maintain a good finish, really only need some warm water to clean especially if its polyurathane. Older floors or floors with a damaged finish may need a product with wax like Bona floor cleaner to help maintain the shine.
We use Bona, Murphy's Oil Soap and Old English products.
Little Liquid Dawn dish soap. Two small pales, plastic. One to use with soapy rag, and a second for rinsing with fresh water. Do this on your hands and knees. Try to stay off the cell phone texting while you do this.
