Cleaning decorative Santa Claus' hair

by Pam
I have several holiday electric motion figures. All of the (Santa's) white beards or (Mrs. Claus) white hair has turned gray. They look fine in the dark with the lights on, but look 'dirty' during the day. Any ideas on making them 'white' again? (it might have been caused smoke by lit candles???)

Try spot cleaning them with a mixture of baking soda, white vinegar and water.Leave the solution on long enough to aid in the whitening.

You also use hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Mix both to make a slurry. Slather (is this a word?) it on the beard/hair, let it sit for a while to work. Rinse/wipe off with a damp cloth. Repeat if necessary.

try dry shampoo use the kind like you get at hospitals in shower caps. get at medical supply. I used them to clean all dolls hair after mom passed. gently massage hair without wrecking hairdo one shower cap will do several dolls depending on amount of dust and grime
