To make your own disposal pods you will need:

White distilled vinegar, fresh citrus fruit and an ice cube tray. To clean the disposal you will also need baking soda.
Start by cutting up the fruit in small pieces. I used lemons, limes and an orange for these pods. Place 2-3 pieces in each section of the tray.
Cover the fruit with white distilled vinegar and place in the freezer. The pods will freeze in a few hours.
You can remove them from the tray by pulling on the fruit. Aren't they pretty!
To clean the disposal, run hot water down the disposal for a few minutes. Put 1/2 cup of baking soda down the disposal.
Put two to three pods in the disposal on top of the baking soda. You may hear some hissing. That's the chemical reaction between the baking soda and the melting vinegar that will work to remove any built-up food on the disposal blades.
Turn the water on just enough to have a small stream going into the disposal. Start the disposal and let it grind for a few seconds. Then turn the water on full stream. Continue to grind the pods until the cubes are gone.
Store the pods in a zip lock plastic bag marked: Do Not Eat! These pods will not hurt you - if but they don't taste very good. Use them once a week to keep your disposal clean and fresh.
