Hi Lisa, we use a mixture of equal parts vinegar and water, with a teaspoon or two of dishwashing liquid added. Put the mixture in a spray bottle, give it a good shake and spray onto the cabinets, leave for a few minutes and then wipe off with a clean cloth. For the little nooks and crannies, an old toothbrush does the trick.

I agree on the equal parts vinegar and what - its what we use all over the house actually with a couple of dashes of any essential oil we feel like using that day. If they're REALLY bad I've been hearing a lot about the cleaning power of TSP for kitchen cabinets.

Wipe with Orange Oil or other nourishing wood product. If light grease, use a diluted degreaser (Dollar Tree has some good products). If build up, scrub with baking soda/peroxide mix. Then degreaser and wood product.

Awesome works great, and TSP works really well too to cut through any grease and crud

While tsp is great (and i do use this) it has a few drawbacks but here is an option.

Consider this TSP substitute: borax. Also known as sodium borate, borax is a naturally-occurring mineral compound that will clean many of the same surfaces TSP has been used on for years, including mold- and mildew-stained areas—all without causing damage nearby plants.

I use a 1:1 ratio of white vinegar and water and add only a very small amount of Dawn dishwashing liquid to clean cabinetry. I then use a clean very damp cloth to rinse this away and another clean dry cloth to dry each area as I work around the entire kitchen. The vinegar odor goes away very quickly, if there's concern about that.

    2. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the solution and wring out the excess liquid.
