How can I remove a burn mark from my butcher block kitchen island?

I placed a hit saucepan on my butcher block that is part of my kitchen island. It left a large burnt circle on the wood. I have tried lightly sanding it, and I’ve used baking soda and vinegar paste also. The mark is basically the same.
