I used alcohol on my old laminate cabinets. Took the grease off but did make it a bit more matte finish than it was before. Try in a small area first if you can. TSP is something everyone uses too. You can get that at any home improvement store.
If they are not unfinished wood - try sudsy ammonia.
Krud cutter works great! Use the spray that is specific to kitchen cabinets.
I use Dollar Tree Awesome Orange in hot water wearing kitchen rubber gloves, for globes of hard oil I use the Awesome Degreaser in spray bottle and a round kitchen plastic scrubby on my clients cupboards.
