Hi Linda! Here's a great video! They use vinegar, baking soda and a scrubbing pad!
how to get black off the bottom of cooking pans
Make a paste of baking soda & hydrogen peroxide and scrub with a steel wool scrubber. You can also use barkeeper's friend or marble paste with a scrubber or an SOS pad.
Linda....Barkeeper Friends works....Walmart and most grocery stores have it.
I have used Cerama Bryte...it's like Barkeeper's Friend and works amazingly well on stainless pots and pans. I use it to clean my stove and my sink, too. https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2017/04/the-best-way-to-clean-glass-stove-top.html
I also recommend Bon Ami powder. Soak the bottom in a pan with Dawn dish detergent and hot water. Then scrub away. I like those green scrub pads. The Dollar store has them.

I use a stainless steel scouring pad. Amway carries well made ones called scrub buds. You can also buy at the Dollar store but they don't last nearly as long. I am not talking about the blue pads filled with soap that rust. TRUE stainless steel ones will do the trick.

Depends if they’re aluminum or stainless steel.
the painted aluminum ones will eventually lose their paint with continuous scrubbing and I try not to let the drips get too “varnished” or they’ll come off only when the paint does.
yes, for the stainless ones, SOS pads, or even Comet with a green scrubbie. I’ve even shaved them with a single edge razor blade.
baking soda will for sure help
