Hi Allene
For many years, I've used Murphy's Oil Soap for wood cabinets. It is designed specifically to clean wood finishes. Once your cabinets are clean, I've always used Liquid Gold. That is also a light-weight cleaning product that also moisturizes your wood and keep it good condition. When I had the wood cabinets, I made it a habit to use Liquid Gold several times a year and my cabinets always looked great! Wishing you the best.
Hello! Use white vinegar on a cloth to wipe down your cabinets. Follow that with the same cloth that has been rinsed in warm water. Repeat on tough spots. Finish off with some Murphy’s Oil. Good luck!
Built up grease can be removed with a grease removed sold at auto parts stores. Yes, I am serious. It does work and I will post the photo here, but just spray an area like a corner section 4 x 4 inches or something and let it set 10 min. or so, use an old tooth brush to rub it in good, wipe it with a damp cloth and repeat if needed. When done, wash all as you would to clean the cabinets. Here is the great cleaner for cabinets and it will not harm the wood or anything:
white vinegar and water 50/50 and a dab of blue dish dish soap....less greasy
I tend to use a soapy water Dawn solution for mild weekly cleaning and Murphy’s oil soap for more moderete cleaning jobs. Murphy's oil soap is an excellent all purpose wood cleaner.
