Decking
I have composite decking. Any thoughts on cleaning it in the spring? I have used EVERY method, solution and even a power washer without much result. Seems to have spots I cannot remove no matter what I try. I did read last year about problems some consumers had with their decking regarding the same thing. It is about 5 years old and correspondence with companies fall on deaf ears. Any tips on how to pressure wash a deck or other ways to clean it properly?

What pressure settings for the power washer are recommended by the manufacturer for cleaning your composite deck? If you didn't follow their suggestions that could be part of the reason you weren't happy with the results.
that is very unfortunate ,if the companies fell on deaf ears, try making you own so natural solutions...baking soda and water into a paste, for mold baking soda and white vinegar.
Check out a product called Joemax. The container tells you how to mix it. Then spray it on, wait and power wash off. It made our vinyl siding look brand new. House is 18 years old.
I haven't heard of Joemax and it may be the solution, but I woud read the label carefully before using any product on that type of decking. Having lived with a composit deck in a area with lots of rain I found that you can't use just any clearner because some products harm the deck. Also using too strong a spray pattern with a pressure washer can do some damage. I would check at a lumberyard that carries composit decking.
Go to askthebuilder.com. He sells Stain Solver. It's an oxygen bleach. His webpage has a lot of before and after pictures showing how to use the product and all the information. I use it almost everywhere there is something that needs a good cleaning. He even recommends it for decking. Good luck!
