Help! I parked my car under a pine tree and it dripped sap on it!

How can I remove it without harming the painted finish? It has hardened.

It seems to me that sap has the same texture as the gum on labels, which can be removed with vegetable oil. It works slowly, though, you have to let it sit over night, then rub with a dish cloth. If it doesn't work, it won't likely cause harm.
Try either baby oil or vegetable oil. It will soften the sap. Then remove with a soft t-shirt and wipe with Windex.
Vegetable oil should help slide it off- good luck :)
FYI: I just bought a new car and got "glass coat" on it. It was a little pricey, but I did it due to the AZ sun. It is supposed to protect your car from all sorts of damage to the finish both exterior and interior. It is even supposed to make it so that road paint just wipes off and protects interior upholstery against stains! That may be the best thing for future auto purchases.
