How do I clean foggy looking auto headlights?

    You can clean with silver polish or toothpaste. MotorWeek recommends a product by Permatex. I used another brand and it did a pretty good job, but nothing like the new headlight. Good luck.

    you need to use a tooth paste that’s a bit on the gritty side..the gel types won’t do it.

    Yep...toothPASTE...not gel, not liquid...but actual white PASTE. Smear it on good and thick..let it dry...then buff off with a dry, or lightly dampened cloth. Use CLOTH... This is a trick that used car dealers use....! And, you will be seeing better in the dark in no time!

    White (not gel) toothpaste and a damp cloth. I did my daughters car last year. A dab of toothpaste on the cloth and gently rub in a circular motion a small area at a time. Have some wet paper towels. Squeeze water as you rub to keep the area moist. Wipe to see the progress. Do not let the toothpaste dry or you will scratch and dull the surface more. A coat of auto paste wax will protect the lens.
