How do I clean gutters if they have a gutter guard?

Under the gutter guard is clogged with leaves and gunk. Is there a tool that I can use? Any tips on how to clean gutters after unclogging the guard will be appreciated.

Babs....My understanding with Gutter Guard was that leaves would not penetrate the guard. If they have not been installed very long I would call to see if this is suppose to happen or if something happened in the installation. We were at a Home Show this past weekend and this was suppose to be the beauty of the product as well as other products with different names.

Oh my...what a shame! Flushing with the garden hose is a good idea and if you have a dry spell (rains every day at our house it seems) you can try blowing them out with a leaf blower that has the hooked attachment. My husband purchased one for our blower but we have no guards at all. Hope these ideas help.

You might be able to flush them out with a pressure nozzle on your garden hose. Always flush them toward the downspout and make sure the downspout is clear before you quit.

High pressure water, Leaf blower, or Air compressor hose would be your best bet. If you decide to remove and replace, consider replacing with this product:

My house is too steep for traditional gutter guards and we went with this product. It is amazing and works perfectly. Easy installation as well.
