How to deal with rust stains in an inground pool

I've had the inground pool for 7 seasons now. Last season is 1st year we started to get a few rust spots on the bottom of the vinyl liner. This season, some more. What is causing that and how, if possible to get rid of those rust stains?

  not growing Squash - gave up last year! Tomatoes THIS year, LOTS of tomatoes, THOUGH none are RIPENING yet??, LAST year our Cherry Tomatoes didn't ripen until I brought them inside. ALWAYS RIPENED in years past, but not last year and so far this year is same issue. LOTS, BUT not ripening

  Since I really, really like fried green tomatoes, I would not be complaining if I had that problem! lol I can't remember what this area's tomato farmers use to gas the green-picked tomatoes when they process them to get them to turn red. Vine ripened are so much better tasting! Are the tomato gardeners in your area having the same problem? Weird. Should we blame it on Al Gore's Global Warming?

  Hi Anna! so THIS year, we are getting Healthy growing tomato plants with LOTS of tomatoes, but none turning green yet!

It is a possibility your PH is to high. I would check that first and adjust accordingly. It may take time for the stains to disappear. With regular maintenance of chemicals and vacuuming they will clear up.

  Thanks Janet..... *** my Smithtown friend *** We do keep the pool bottom clean (Polaris) and check the water with strips, and they generally read good. The pool guy says metal under the liner, but I'm not sure how that is happening.

  Hi Jim just another thought ,sometimes those strips go bad. With that The levels may look correct but in fact a bit off. I had this a few times myself. Next suggestion is to take a sample to the water to a pool supply and let them check to be on the safe side.Let me Know the outcome.
