Hose off the patio and scrub stains using a detergent such as Dawn or Ajax dishwashing liquid. To remove dark brown or black spots on patios in shady or damp areas, scrub them with a solution of bleach and water. This method will also help remove moss, mold and mildew.

A LOW POWER PRESSURE WASHER IS THE BEST WAY TO REALLY CLEAN A CEMENT PATIO, BUT I FOUND THAT IF YOU PAINT THE CEMENT DECK WITH A GOOD QUALITY PAINT MADE FOR CEMENT, IT IS MUCH EASIER TO KEEP CLEAN AND STAYS CLEAN MUCH LONGER BECAUSE MANY OF THE LITTLE CRACKS AND CREVICES THAT COLLECT THE DUST AND DIRT ARE COVERED AND SEALED BY THE PAINT.
