I'm a senior on a fixed income. I can't afford those gutter covers. It'd hard for me to use ladder and clean out the gutters. Is there any DIY information on how to cover the gutters that is affordable? But, Nothing too hard because I'm a senior lady on my own. Please respond. Thank you!

Linda, for our home we found 2 ft long sections that are made of plastic and perforated so the water can flow thru, but no leaves and twigs. These sections fit right into your gutter. I do believe you can find them at big box hardware store. I think they are about $2 to $3 each. Good Luck

I was thinking a water hose but you would probably still need a ladder .maybe a neighbor ? home depot sells the kind that slips in the spouting not hard to do . if I lived closer I would do it for you .maybe someone from church . Good luck

Hi. Thanks for your response. I did try one of those but it wouldn't move the clogs along the gutters.

I got water in my basement from the heavy rains and the clogged gutters.

I wish a had a nice neighbor like you to help me clean and unclog the gutters. Thanks

Hi there, you can buy a pretty inexpensive almost "sponge like" material to fill your gutters with called Gutter Foam. Here's a link. Once its in place you shouldn't have trouble with leaves again.

I have seen plastic gutter mesh guards in $ and discount stores.

Here's a cheap roll from HD: You may only need a couple depending on the size of your gutters.
