I read that if you soak the soda cans in water and vinegar for a couple of hours that you can scrub the color off. If it works, you could just keep a wide-mouth container with water and vinegar ready for clean cans with labels printed on the can. Be sure to keep it covered because of the smell. Hi Tom,i've read about how to do this before but couldn't remember so I looked it up. Every website article I read said you need a presser cooker/canner to start the process. Just so you know, vinegar will most likely turn the cans gunmetal gray. That might work for what you want, however if you want it shiny they recommend rubbing it with 0000 steel wool pads. Click on the link below for the presser cooker method. Wishing you the best.http://www.instructables.com/id/Ink-Removal-From-Soda-Cans/1 marked as helpful Reply -

I was told that sticky label could be removed using... oil. I said I am going to try this to see if it's true. But I know there are special products for removing labels, and they are oil based. It's something like this: https://www.bottleyourbrand.com/blog/remove-labels-from-water-wine-and-beer-bottles/recommended-for-removing-label-glue/ And there is no sanding involved :) I hope it helps.Helpful Reply -
