Does anyone have a home remedy for fire ants?

I'm very allergic to fire ants. I need a home remedy that I can use safely. The ones from the garden centers are very toxic. Thanks, Ginny

Sprinkle either cornmeal or grits around the mound and parimeter of your yard. They will feed on this and die. You will have to repeat treatment after a rain. Found this on Pinterest and have used for past 2 years and it does seem to work.

Some people say they don't like me peppermint.

I have been putting coffee grounds in my gardens for years - regular ants hate them

Sorry but Amdro is the best if you apply it properly around the mound and don't disturb it.. If you should get any insect bite- Have Adolphs or any brand, meat tenderizer on hand. Wet the bites, sprinkle it on heavy like you were meat-lol, gently rub it in, let it dry. Dont miss any spots. The next day they don't fester up or anything. I live in Florida and use it on any insect bite. The papaya in it breaks down the protein they have left after the bite. I cant believe this isn't widely known.

I had fire ants last year. I sprayed the area (more like soaked the area) with vinegar and lemon juice. They haven't come back.
