Hi. If there's a lot of wood in the house and it has that antique smell, sealing the wood with a water based polyurethane will combat the smell. If it smells musty, you may want to check for any damp areas inside the house. And congrats on the new home!

I bet the smell is coming from old carpet it the house has that. In that case, a professional cleaning would help. Hi Cindy. Where the smell is the strongest, remove that piece of paneling. See if there's anything lurking behind. If not, paint all the paneling and seal the floor where it's wood. Good luck.
