    Vinegar and essential oils

Vinegar, distilled water, some hydrogen peroxide, and some essential oils. I love my homemade cleaner and since I use essential oils I can mask the vinegar smell with whatever scent I’m enjoying at that particular time!

I tried many things with vinegar etc and was not happy with any of the home made products. Then I learned about Simple Green (available at Walmart in auto/camping/ tire section and in cleaning supplies at Menards) It comes in concentrate or spray. It is cheaper to refill spray bottles with concentrate and a bottle lasts a long time (year or more for me and I use it for all my cleaning) It is non-toxic but deodorizes and disinfects both. I LOVE it. It is about all I use for cleaning.

  • Vinegar or vinegar and baking soda are my go to before using chemicals. I don't use many essential oils as most are toxic to pets and I have a house full of them. Rubbing alcohol, peroxide and cheap vodka have their place too.

I used a one to one ratio of vinegar and water, 15 drops of lemongrass essential oil - and then you can use baking soda in the bathrooms or for tough cleaning jobs.
