Remove as much as possible with a snake or drain cleaning tool. Pour ½ cup baking soda then ½ cup white vinegar in the drain and cover, letting sit for 20 minutes. Boil water, remove cover, and pour water down the drain. You may have to repeat the process.

  • Try this:

Pour boiling water down the drain. Then add a half cup of baking soda and let it sit for a minute. Pour a cup of vinegar and a cup of hot water down the drain. Cover loosely and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Pour another pot of boiling water down the drain to flush out the clog.

I bought a snake that attaches to the end of a drill at Home Depot. It goes 50 feet down. It will clear out your drain. To clean it a little better pour CLR Power Plumber in the drain and rinse with boiling water.

We use a snake to clear our drains (we own a few rental properties) and it saves us from calling a plumber 95% of the time.

    A snake would work

  • Depends on where the sink is. In the bathroom, use one of those long plastic drain things with the spikes, pull out the hair. Sprinkle baking soda then pour vinegar over it to clean the drain.
