I sell a lot of jewelry on Ebay. Gold, silver, etc. With and without stones. Polishes and dips tend to remove some of the metal. I use white toothpaste (not gel) and a damp toothbrush. Just brush lightly, rinse, and wipe with a soft cloth. Works every time. Doesn't affect the stones. They actually look brighter. For large items I use a damp cloth. Also works on copper, brass, porcelain, ceramics, sneakers, plastics, etc. For my sales I needed one product for cleaning everything.

Use toothpaste (not gel) to clean a rose gold necklace. Massage a little, and it'll turn grayish black. Then rinse with lukewarm water

toothpaste with old toothbrush. Some gems may look nice after cleaning, but please make sure the chemicals will not hurt the gems. Opals, Pearls and some stone gems will be damaged and they can't be repaired. Check online for GIA hardness and what's a safe way to clean. Good Luck!

If mild soap and water is not enough, try plain white toothpaste with a rag and/or soft toothbrush. Make sure there is no gel, baking soda, whitening or other additives in the toothpaste.

Toothpaste works great. I use the electric toothbrush & an old 'head' to speed up the process. Restores sparkle in a flash.

Use plain white toothpaste, it is mild, non abrasive and easy to rinse off even the small details. Use a toothbrush to get into the little crevices.

You don't clean gold with toothpaste. Toothpaste and only the regular NOT gel will take off tarnish from oxidation on silver not gold. Gold should only need cleaning from dirt and body oil so put it in some soap and water and let it soak.
