How do I make DIY dishwasher soap?

Clean dwasher, use rinsing agent

Hello. If you have a high mineral content into your water it may be difficult. Calcium chalky buildup can be common when the water is that is considered hard. Using a rinsing agent can help your glassware stay clearer.

We also have to use the affresh tablets in the dishwasher to keep it clean. The hard water coating can build up inside there too. It is particularly noticeable because our dishwasher interior is lined with stainless steel.

I’m looking for a cleaner that does not remove the patina from the glasses. I use cascade, and a rinsing agent. I have soft water so hard water film is not my issue. Thanks for your quick response 👍🏻

If you want to keep the patina, I think it would be best to hand wash them. Some glasses & other dishware just doesn't work well in a dishwasher. The only other suggestion that I have is to call the manufacturer of the dishwasher and ask for their advice. Wishing you the best.

Liquid, not dry dishwasher soap.

Run a pint of vinegar in the dishwasher once a month.

• 1 cup borax
• 1 cup washing soda
• ½ cup citric acid
• ½ cup kosher salt (for scrubbing action)

1. Mix all ingredients together.
2. Use 1 Tbsp per load (you can use a heaping tablespoon if you feel the need, but we do not).

Each batch yields 24 ounces of detergent. We recommend storing in a container you were going to dispose of anyway, like an old yogurt container or coffee can you can fit it under your kitchen sink. Feel free to double the batch, or multiply to create any amount you’d like.

For a DIY rinse agent, simply fill the compartment with white vinegar.
