HEAT! Use a heat gun to warm up and scrape off!
Here is a good link...since your linoleum is already up, go to the "glue removal" part. Good luck! When we removed ceramic tile from our kitchen floor, it came up rather easily, but left a lot of mortar on the floor. Not wanting the dust to fill up the air ducts, I insisted on our using about 3" wide hand held scrapers and small hammers to get it up. It took hubs and me about 2 hours on a 12x14 kitchen floor, but we had no dust.
