How do you remove axle grease from a cotton jacket?

Surely, a cotton ball soaked with good nail polish remover you use to remove the polish from your fingernails will remove it. Maybe place a piece of plastic over the area while soaking so the remover doesn't evaporate too quickly. Repeat as many times as needed.
Perhaps you could cut it off using a single edged razor blade in a holder (often called a widget). The metal holder has a thumb button that retracts or extends the blade it is pretty safe to use and store.
You could try to scrape it off, but nail polish remover should work.
