To draw the “broccoli worms” out of the broccoli trees, soak it in a sink of cold water to which you’ve added 1/4 cup of salt and 2 tbsp of vinegar. Keep the broccoli heads submerged in the water for at least 20 minutes.

I go over the plants once a day gathering those pesky little green guys. I put them in an old yogurt container and leave them on my neighbors porch so she can give them to her chickens. I also check the undersides of the leaves and scrape off any egg masses that I find. When I'm feeling lazy, I just put on a disposable glove and squeeze the little buggers as I find them.
It is easier to cover the suseptible crops with lightweight cloth (you can buy non-woven row covers or use cheesecloth) . This keeps those pretty little white butterflies from laying their eggs on your broccoli.
