Clean permanent hair dye from a plastic loo seat and window sill?

I'm so sorry to say I don't think that's gonna come off your plastic loo seat BUT you might want to try a hydrogen peroxide and baking soda paste. Let it set on all of the stains for a day or two before wiping off. Good luck, so sorry to see that!

My daughter works at a hair salon and she said that's a tough one. She said that depending on the surface they used Magic Eraser and sometimes- in extreme cases - in the porcelain sinks they would mix the old hair bleach, make a paste and paint it on the porcelain and leave it for a bit. However, it can damage the surfaces and discolor them, so I'm hesitant to even mention it, but she said it does work. I would spot test that suggestion before using it and use it as a last resort. Hello. That’s a very hard dye to remove. My daughter had an accident on our bathroom rugs. She did up replacing them for us.

I would think the windowsill could be primed with a stain blocking primer and repainted. I am not sure about the toilet seat I imagine it is permeated the plastic surface.

Oh dear, I have had this problem with hair dye (semi permanent) on the plastic vanity, my color is light reddish brown, there are so many levels of color in hair color. What I did to remove it successfully is to use fresh lemon wedges on the stain. just let it hang out there.

You might consider consulting the hair color manufacturer and see what they say. They may want specifics, hope you have them, such as the color & lot number. Best to you.

You could try using Surgical Spirit?

Do you still have the paint of the color of your window sill? You could sand and paint it. As for the plastic toilet seat - you may just want to replace it.

I would just try repainting your windowsill. If you don't want to sand and paint, maybe you could try some chalk painting in a matching color.

Hydrogen peroxide has worked for me in the past.

Applying just the "developer" portion of hair dye application will be able to lighten the stain a bit and as Kathy mentioned, hydrogen perioxide. The developer has perioxide in it but is usually a thicker mixture that might be more manageable to leave on the stains. Good luck!

Hair dye on plastic is a disaster. Get a new one and just give the window a fresh coat of paint.

Bleach, alcohol and magic eraser will all lighten the stain but I am not 100% sure it will remove it altogether. It may work out cheaper to buy a new one.

Hi! There are dye remover pads you can buy online or at a beauty supply place. I've used them in the past. I found acetone also removes most of it. A baking soda and hydrogen peroxide mixture can be applied like a poultice, layers of paper towels or a cloth on top to absorb the dye. Keep it moist and change the poultice when it starts absorbing the dye. Good luck!

Try some Clorex outdoors. Use in a well ventilated area.

Have the girlfriend go to a beauty supply store and buy a small bottle of 30 Volume Creme Developer. That is the strongest level of hydrogen peroxide one can get.

Saturate cotton balls with it and leave it there for days.
