I take mine down (1 at a time) and wash them in the bathtub. Works like a charm!

Can you remove from the windows and place in a bathtub of water with a cleanser?

If not, there are a few solutions. You can buy one of those swiffer products made for blinds or wrap material around tongs, spray with cleaner, and swipe each slat clean.

Hi Lisa! I think your best bet is to take the blinds down and clean them in the bathtub or shower stall of the rental. Since they haven't been cleaned for years, I think it would be too time-consuming to do the individual slats. Soak them a bit in very hot sudsy water then rinse, rinse, rinse and then rig them somehow to drip dry after the water has run clear. Then rehang and perhaps touch up in a few places with a damp soft cloth. Good luck.

I share your pain as a landlord of many years! Cleaned many, many horribly dirty ovens, fridges, interior cabinets......ya' know of what I write! Treat yourself afterwards to a nice facial or massage and think of the long-term investment. :)
