How do I get plastic tablecloth off my door?
I know it sounds silly, but we decorate our door with cheap tablecloths from the store for holidays and this time rain got behind one followed by a hot day and the tablecloth melted onto the door in some spots. What’s some recommendations to get it off? Thanks!!!

Try Krud Kutter, Goo Gone, Goof Off available at diy stores.
Hi Becca, you can try this homemade recipe using baking soda - https://www.howtocleanstuff.net/how-to-remove-plastic-residue-from-wood/
I would try Goo-Gone.
Very, Very, hot water baking soda and vinegar. Mix it and make a past like substance. lightly rub on the marks and let set for about a min or two. It should wash off.

Did you try a hair blow dryer? Perhaps the heat will loosen the glue and/or plastic and it can be scraped off. Plastic reacts to heat and cold. If the heat doesn't work -try an ice pack in small sections.
I would try to soak the area well with a hot soapy dishcloth. I know it will be difficult because the area is vertical but soaking it off is the best method.
Try ice to harden the plastic and then a wooden or hard plastic scraper to pop it off the surface.
try TSP you can get it from Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart etc it is great for cleaning doors, cabinets, etc before painting them
Hi, I would try a plastic scraper first, then goo gone, and simply heating it and scrubbing. You can try this method that is supposed to work well

Rubbing alcohol should take the tablecloth off the door.
Heat with a hair dryer on high and scrape with a plastic scraper.
However, the photo looks like the paint is coming off as well. That will involve a full refinish of the door.
Here's a post that might help https://www.loctiteproducts.com/en/know-how/fix-stuff/how-to-get-sticky-residue-off-plastic-no-fuss-method.html
I'd try Goo Gone or a cloth with hot water on it (its melt the finish).
Any chemicals like Krud Kutter or Goo Gone will strip the paint off the door. I would get a plastic scraper and some hot water mixed with Downy fabric softener. Spray it on and use the scraper to take off the felt and plastic.
When soft plastic items sit in one place for a long time, they can become stuck to the surface and leave behind some pieces or residue when the item is removed. Here’s how to remove the plastic.
the heat method
One of the reasons that soft plastics can do this is that when heated, for example, if the area was in the sun or if the room became hot one summer day without the A/C running, the plastic can melt onto the surface, causing it to become stuck. This method can help you to remove it.
You Will Need:Hello. I agree with the above post- to try to hairdryer first before trying any chemicals. It’s a reason problem occurred. Hopefully it will be an easy resolution as well.
Goo Gone won’t strip the paint.
Goo Off will.
Goo Gone - plastic bottle.
Goo Off - metal bottle.
Plastic is like wax get a brown bag and a iron put the bag over the spot and iron it try low first the melted tablecloth should adhear to the brown bag
Just try using hairdryer, hopefully it will turn out well and solve the problem.
