How to clean outdoor windows that have screens permanently attached??

I'm wondering if you have double hung windows. They are the standard installation and have been for probably over 20 years. If so, you can flip them down and clean from inside the house. If not, try just straight high powered water to get all the dirt from the screens loose then use something like Fuller's window wash or Krud Kutter.

If you saved the bottle from the Windex spray try using vinegar in it with a strong water spray. You can also try auto windshield washer fluid. With permanent attached screens you have no way to squeegee or wipe the windows.

With the screens permanently attached, I wonder if you have a lot if debris and dirt trapped in this system that is being forced out of nooks and crannies onto your windows, applying more of what you are trying to wash out. The high pressure from the hose or washer is loosening this up and there is no place to go other than through the screens or back onto the windows.

I would start rinsing with just plain water to loosen up the stuff, then add a couple of capfuls of Blue Dawn dish-soap to the bottle and spray it onto the windows, make sure the entire window is wet with the soapy water. This will breakdown the dirt and debris. Wait 10-15 minutes and rinse with plain water

You might consider washing your windows outside more often to avoid build up.

If you're looking to clean the outside surfaces of the windows on your house but can't remove your screens, there is one easy way to get rid of the dirt without too much tinkering.

Step 1

Pour a couple of capfuls of liquid dishwashing soap into your spray bottle, then fill the rest of the bottle with water from the tap.

Step 2

Shake the bottle well to mix the water and soap.

Step 3

Rinse your exterior windows by spraying them through the screen with the water hose. This will remove most loose debris, such as leaves, bugs and spider webs.

Step 4

Spray each window with your soap/water mixture until the entire outside surface of the glass is coated. Dishwashing liquid breaks down dirt and grease, so it is a perfect soak for window exteriors.

Step 5

Wait for 10 minutes. Then rinse the soap off your windows with the hose. Your windows should be clean, and your screens will likely see some improvement as well.

do the screens move up and down so you can clean one area then the other? I don't personally like the Windex Window cleaner I tried it and it made a big mess for me too- the service I used in the past used one drop of blue Dawn detergent to a gallon of warm water and sprayed it on the windows and then used a squeegee to get the product off and they didn't have to rinse just wiped the squeegee with a clean rag each time they used it

I have seen advertisements on TV for a plastic bottle hose attachment with a concentrated product for cleaning windows. The attachment includes somehow making the water hose have a higher pressure which would be good to clean both the screens and windows in one process. Of course, if you live in a hard water area, you may still have those deposits on otherwise clean windows.

I suggest windshield washer fluid like rain guard - it will help the drips fall and leave less water marks.

Does the windows tilt in to clean them you could try opening the window and stick a squeegee like thing with a cloth and soap soap the window then squeegee it and pull water down to clean them from the inside
