After the craftathon of the last quarter of the year (Can anyone please tell me, why a DIYers life gets so much more hectic in the upcoming months of Christmas??), my craft room is extra messy. How about yours?

And I'll be brutally honest here: I tend to skip cleaning and (re)organising my craft room, because I get really overwhelmed by this task. I'm not kidding you, in my real life job I am responsible for huge budgets and handle ginormous projects on a daily basis, but when it comes to reorganising one tiny room, I break out a sweat.

Also, I am always more ready to create new things rather than tidying up and putting craft supplies away. I guess my brain is telling me: You'll need them in a minute anyways, why even bother putting them away.

Does this sound anything like YOU? If so, you definitely should keep on reading ;-)

Because, sometimes enough is enough, right?! Sometimes you get so annoyed by the creative mess you've caused, that those artistic juices simply stop flowing. And that is the nightmare of every DIYer on this planet!!!

Obviously if that happens, it's time to just suck it up, take matters at hand, and start cleaning!
BEFORE:
It's time to confess my mess with photos. This was my messy desk and surroundings. There was no workspace left to get creative. No more pushing things to the side to find a tiny spot to get my craft on. My supplies were literally spilling out of my cabinet or didn't have a dedicated place to go at all.
The drawers wouldn't shut anymore. I though it was because of too many craft supplies, but learned later that the reason was lack of a functioning system.
I don't have a dedicated craft room. I use parts of my bedroom as my craft space.

The corner behind my bedroom door was literally wasted wasted room for storage. I found a cabinet with a lot of potential almost two years ago, but never gotten round to make it pretty.

So I ended up storing mismatched and inefficient clutter there - because that is not really furniture, right?

I think it's safe to say that one can be INTIMIDATED by the task of cleaning up and organising this mess, right?
But do you realise that I am using past tense here? Yeah? Because I GOT THIS MESS SORTED out.

YASSS, and not only in this little sketch I made to visualise the end result. Needles to say, I am mighty proud of myself!!!

AND SO CAN YOU!

Thank you, Lisa! And sorry for the late reply. I managed to keep my craft room ignorer but my emails are a whole other story. I guess I need to do an email challenge - clean, purge, unsubscribe, check in at least every other day, lol.
