DIY Cabinet Pulls

I've been working on giving my tiny half bath a makeover. After all of the holiday spending last month, I wanted to do this by spending as little money as possible. After I repainted my vanity, I decided to switch out the hardware. I love the look of the longer-length cabinet pulls that are popular right now, but they can get expensive!
I came up with a plan to DIY the cabinet pulls for only a few dollars. I went to the home improvement store and found copper tees used for fitting pipe. I was planning on using pipe for the rod as well, but those copper tees get narrow in the middle making it impossible to fit pipe all the way through.
Instead I picked up a wooden dowel with the plan to sand it down just enough to slide it though, which worked perfectly. We were able to cut the wooden dowel into two 13" sections for our two pulls, with some leftover.
Next I painted the pull white and spray painted the copper tees silver. They would have looked great if left copper, but they wouldn't have matched anything else in this space.
We secured them to the doors with 1.5" wood screws which we drilled from the inside of the door into the wooden dowel. You can see the finished bathroom here - you'll definitely want to see what I did with the tile floors!!
