Craft Room Organization for Multi Purpose Craft Supplies
If you're like me and do a lot of different types of projects you probably find yourself collecting a little bit of this and a little bit of that along the way and before you know it, you forget what you have! I'm notorious for picking things up at the dollar store, craft store or reuse center and then forgetting I have it! My solutions was to begin designing a craft room that was functional first.
When I set out to re-organize my craft room one of the main criteria was being able to visually see what I had when it came to all the small materials and odd ball things I've collected and saved for possible projects and the best way to accomplish that was using containers that were clear or easy to see through.
After I organized all the small things in see through containers I wanted shelving that accommodated being able to easily access them. I was tired of the "hmmm.... I know I have those somewhere!" and digging through cupboards, boxes and drawers or worse forgetting I had those materials at all!
What better than incorporating storage solutions you already have! This dresser that was no longer being used is the perfect storage solution for all the bits and pieces of fabric I collect for various projects and it also allows me space to put additional storage options on top!
I love this old industrial cabinet I found at a garage sale! My thing is to re-use and re-purpose materials whenever I can so when I visit the re-use centre, I'm likely to be bringing home a collection of ribbons and string and I'm always taking in left overs from family and friends. Each drawer is for a different color so when I neeed a little piece of ribbon for a project, it's quick and easy to find what I need.
Placing my work table in-front of my shelving makes it so convenient to access my materials and will make a fun and interesting back drop for future craft videos!
