Friends, Help and I need Your Advice! ☺️
Hi fellow HOMETALK FRIENDS. I enjoy this site very much and get lots of inspiration from members and their posts. I do have a particular "dilemma/issue" if you will (well, it is to me), with a decorating portion of my living room. I'm posting the very spot in question. What I'm speaking of is the very unsightly plugs and cords all over, plus on the floor. This bothers me immensely. If you notice in the photo, my lamp has a "plug" that's wedged between my sofa that travels down to the floor to the walls' outlet. Even if we directly plugged the lamp into the wall (the cord isn't long enough), it would be risky to trip over. I've had a different lamp and same thing. Also, I HAD very briefly thought about putting a lamp with a USB that doesn't require cords. But it doesn't stay on long enough. That idea wasn't sufficient for this area. Besides, those lamps are good for certain places. But this is not good here; not where I have my lamp. Eventually I'm going to do some diy painting on my white tables, but that's another thing. My main issue here are these darn cords and how can I get my lamp to light? I had though of placing a SMALL item in front of the white table; say square ottoman, or something, to visually "hide" the cord mess. However, that looked weird to me 😒🙄There MUST be SOME resolve! Please friends, I appreciate any and all contributions. Your opinions DO matter. If one or more ideas you submit (that would be fantastic!) ideas fit my area, I know I'll be hardpressed to choose lol. But let me say now, thank you HOMETALK community friends for helping another member. I SO appreciate your consideration and contributions. I'm looking forward to what you offer.

You need a power strip for all the cords. Route the cords towards the wall and plug them into a power strip. Would eliminate the cords across the floor. Baskets or trays for all the stuff on the table.
Hi there, so happy to hear that you enjoy Hometalk. Can you get an electrical lead with a power strip to extend the distance of the lamp cords? Maybe that way they can run behind the couch? They come in all lengths. You can also consider creating a false bottom (or top in this case) for the tabletop and hide some of the cabling/plug bit underneath. A cardboard box covered in a coordinating fabric under the table could also help.
If you used a power strip, you may not need cords coming from different directions. This would eliminate the tripping hazard.
Hubby uses power strips. But he mounts them on the wall but at floor height. A power strip at sofa/floor height can hide a lot of unsightly cords.

Plug the cord into the outlet were it is and use a smart plug and control it with your phone and you don’t need the cords
I bought some kits off Amazon that are cord covers. They zip up and are available in white or black. They can be lengthened or shortened and provide a very neat appearance.

It may be as simple as buying a nice looking bin to use for organization. You could also get a power strip to put in the bin. Velcro strips may also help you organize cords!
