Help needed- How can I organize my crafts?

Kathy
by Kathy
I'm a crafter, I make cards, etc. However, I'm so disorganised and my front room is a tip. I've got lots of boxes in which I store 'stuff', but I'm just terrible. Any good advice, please.

  • I found that re-organizing and putting like items in clear plastic totes helped me. I was forever routing through boxes and could never find anything. Now, at least I can see through the tub and see "paper crafts" or "painting" or "floral" supplies.

I have never met a craft I didn't like or wouldn't try! Clear plastic organizers work well. Also, I use three decorative wardrobes in my living room. Two have shelves, and within them I have cardboard/clear boxes for storage. LABEL all your boxes, and have the printing large and clear. Measure containers before you buy to make sure you can fit the most into your storage space. Also, there are storage containers that have several shelves within, so that you can store papers in flat layers. The third wardrobe has a curtain rod mounted inside, and I have a shoe organizer [that has shelves] mounted on the rod. Plastic lidded storage containers [half the size of a shoe box] fit nicely on the "shelves".....I find that shelves and clear plastic containers, with labels, work the best. Hope this helps!

My crafts and DIY stuff was a hopeless mess until I sorted everything into totes and put up some shelves for it. I still have to push myself to tidy it all away properly at the end of a project though.

    Did you try see-through boxes?

I feel like that would make you be more aware of what is in each box, and you would be able to see which boxes need reorganizing...

Also putting labels on your boxes could help a lot...

    Good luck!

See through totes are the best . The kind that slide under the bed are even better .
