  • Do you have a spare bookshelf, bakers rack or cabinet to use? You could fold and stack neatly in color coordinated piles to identify easily. Or if you have enough room, the plastic storage drawers that are semintransparent would work too.

I strongly advise storing them visible in a room because even diluted sunlight will eventually fade exposed area. I made shelves in my closet floor to ceiling and color coordinated them, the door protects them from the sun.

I am professional seamstress and storage is a big problem. Plastic tote's, if you use large once, number the tote's, easy to look up in a notebook. Storage, out of sunlight, materials will fade, and tote's keep the dust out. All small items I store in look trough small plastic containers. I store everything on shelves or in cabinets. Good luck to you!!
